1. Dale Jr. needs to rack up a few wins before the Chase starts. Maybe I should re-word that. He doesn't need to, it would just help. Top fiving them to death works, it's just not as fun.
2. I'm tired of Dale Jr. being ignored as a threat when he's second in points. That means that he's doing better than everyone else at keeping up with Kyle Busch, but man Carl Edwards is amazing. Boo.
3. I need to work less and have more fun.
4. I heard from Meme the other day. We're still of the same mind, which basically means she's working all the time too.
5. I'm a Cowboys and Panthers fan, but I can't wait to see what the Saints (which I consider to be America's other team) do this year with the addition of Shockey. Oh wait, this is a racing blog...
6. Okay, even though it's a racing blog, I'm in the middle of sports fan heaven this summer. Racing, baseball, the Olympics, X Games and NFL camp. Doesn't get much better than this.
7. I'm really curious to see how the Busc... Nationwide Series goes this weekend with even horse power. Perhaps the monkeys... I mean drivers in the 20 car won't seem as amazing.
8. I love IRP. And yes, I know it's called ORP now, but I'm not budging. Anyway, it's one of my favorite tracks. It's so small and unique (most pole winners choose the outside starting spot because that's where the best line is) and it's a refreshing break from the cookie cutters.
9. Shout out to Hippie, Trish and Mike because I feel like I'm neglecting you guys.
10. I've heard and read rumors that Truex, Jr. might actually be hanging around over at DEI. I'm such a flip-flopper! But I think the biggest reason would be all of that money saved on Mark Martin leaving. A bigger check never hurts. Unless, you know, you like winning and not money.
11. I wonder if I'll miss Jeff Gordon when he retires. He spoke recently about not racing past 40, which gives us three or four more seasons of Jeff Gordon. I'm going to wait and see on that one.
12. My cell phone buttons are giving out on me. I have to hit buttons really hard, which makes texting (which I hate) even harder than it already is for those who don't have magic fingers. I hope it hangs on until January, which is when I get an upgrade.
13. I've missed the last two episodes of Shirting Gears. And I'm not happy about it.
14. I've also missed my other shows like Flipping Out, Shear Genius and Pass Time. Not happy about that either.
15. I think the whole hoopla over Tony Stewart's announcement before he actually made it, deadened the blow a little bit. It just doesn't seem like that big of a deal right now. That's what happens when you hold on to the worst kept secret in NASCAR for over a month.
